Nottingham went back to the 1940s to mark the 70th anniversary of Veteran’s Day. The ‘Knees Up’ day gave visitors a taste of what life was like during WWII.
Nottingham Castle and Brewhouse Yard opened their doors on Bank Holiday Monday to host the annual 1940s ‘Knees Up’. Hundreds of visitors were dressed for the part in period costume to join in with the street games, sing-alongs and swing dancing. The visitors could also meet veterans in authentic World War II surroundings.
