A new study has found that one in six people aged 25 to 34 need help from a relative to put down a deposit on a property.
Many parents are concerned that their children will never become home owners without appropriate financial support.
Due to a lack of properties on the market ahead of the general election, housing prices have seen increases of up to £5000 – reaching an all-time high.
In the case of a Labour win in the elections, the possibility of a mansion tax would arise, leading to fewer people placing their property on the market.
