Two Notts County Ladies players have received nominations from the annual Professional Footballer’s Association awards, to be held this Sunday. .
Jess Clarke and Amy Turner have been put forward for the Women’s PFA Players Player of the Year and the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year category. Both women are said to feel honoured by their nominations.
Clarke, who was the leading goal scorer last season has netted 15 goals in her last 22 appearances. The striker was also capped for England last year. Turner, Notts counties central defender captained England’s under 23 team. She has now made her senior England debut in the Cyprus cup earlier this year.
The club are currently on a high having reached the FA cup semi finals where they will face Everton at Goodison Park on the third of May. The winners of the tie will then move onto the finals where they will face either Chelsea or Manchester City.
Before Notts County Ladies was formed, the team were based in Lincoln under the name of Lincoln City Ladies FC. The former chairman Geoff Adams played a role in the switch-over to base the club in Nottingham.

The PFA awards will take place at Grosvenor House in London on Sunday night.
