A man has been arrested after an assault of a 21 year-old male who is now in serious condition in the Queen’s Medical Centre.
The attacker is suspected of causing grievous bodily harm. The assault happened in Upper Parliament Street on the section between Hallam jewellery shop and Haarts estate agents.
The area was cordoned off as forensic officers inspected the scene.
Blood stains were left on the Upper Parliament Street pavement.
Police think that more than one person may have been involved in the assault and an investigation is underway.
City centre neighbourhood inspector Jez Ellis said officers are looking at CCTV to find out more.
Inspector Ellis confirmed no weapons had been used in the attack.
Police have asked anyone with information to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 63 of April 15.
