Nottingham’s Emett Clock has returned to its Victoria Centre home after extensive renovation. It has been put in a different place within the centre and that has upset some people.
The focal point of the Victoria Centre, designed by Rowland Emett in 1973, has had pride of place in the space outside John Lewis and Boots.
However, in a controversial move, the clock is set to relocate to its new home on the upper mall, outside the Disney stall.
The Clock will go alongside a fountain in which people can throw loose change and make a wish (if they wish). The water from this fountain also drives the clock. The proceeds from any money thrown into the fountain is donated to one of the charities supported by Intu, the shopping centre owners.
