Ten people have been killed as two helicopters have collided during the filming of the French reality tv series ‘Dropped.’
Olympic gold medalist swimmer Camile Muffat, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and champion sailor Florence Arthaud are among those who have died in the crash. The five other French nationals were said to have worked for the company making the series. The disaster happened near the town Villa Castelli, north of the capital of Buenos Aires according to local officials. The cause of the collision have not yet been made clear.
The programme was a new reality survival show that put famous sporting personalities into the wilderness, challenging them to use their skills to find food and shelter.
In total, eight French nationals were killed and their two Argentine pilots died. There were no survivors. Francois Hollande has said that it is “a cause of great sadness”. Tributes for the dead stars have been pouring from France and all over the world.
