Ilkeston Football Club are looking to the future following financial peril

ILKESTON_STILL1Ilkeston FC are looking to climb through the leagues with their new-look side and academy, when only a few years ago they might not have existed.

Back in 2010 the Robins were liquidated and went into receivership, leaving their football future in the balance. They were removed from the football ladder, but when Dave Mantle, the current owner, took over he worked with the staff to put plans together to reform the club.

From there the plans, which involved setting up a scholarship scheme and developing their own players through their academy, was approved and therefore Ilkeston was reinstated to the English Football League structure, but at step four.
