Lady Bay bridge in Nottinghamshire has been re-opened after a 5 hour closure which began in the early hours of the morning. Both carriageways were closed as police attended the scene..
A 28 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article following the closure of Lady Bay bridge. The bridge was closed from the early hours of the morning after police were called to an incident. The major road between Radcliffe and Loughborough roads was cordoned off, whilst police directed traffic out of the area.
After more than six hours of being out of action the bridge finally re-opened at around 11 this morning. It caused congestion for rush hour travellers as several fire engines, ambulances and unmarked police cars were called to the scene.
The delays continued with some commuters telling CBJ News they were late for work having been stuck in traffic for more than an hour.
