Celebrate Chinese New Year at Nottingham Central Library

20150217_120016Nottingham Central Library is hosting a Chinese new year event celebrating the year of the Sheep, in preparation of Thursdays main event.

It’s the Chinese year of the Sheep this week and parents and carers with children are invited to go down to the library and have fun, creating arts and crafts.

Rachel Williams, events coordinator at the library explains how the event will attract more children to the library.

This is one of many events going on in the City in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the University of Nottingham opening its campus Ningbo China. Councils in Rushcliffe, Nottingham, Gedling and Broxtowe are keeping local events ranging from workshops, to film screenings.

Nottingham Trent University is also hosting a traditional party for the Chinese students and the general public, activities include making traditional foods such as dumplings and traditional tea.
