Golf ball thieves target Nottingham’s Riverside Golf Centre

Thousands golfof golf balls have been stolen from the Riverside Golf Centre in Dunkirk, leaving the club with losses within the region of £5000.

Thieves targeted the Riverside Golf Centre, which is situated on Lenton Lane, to steal thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

Not only were thousands of golf balls stolen, the thieves also left with a golf barrow, targets and an entrance barrier, leaving club owner, Declan Malone, £5000 out of pocket.

“I’ve just taken over the club and am in the process of getting things together for a re-launch, and then someone goes and does this. It’s not ideal.” – Declan Malone, club owner.

The thieves struck some time between 9.30pm on Tuesday January 27 and 7am on Wednesday January 28, and it is believed that all of the golf balls were picked up by hand.

Police are urging anyone with information which may help locate the equipment to call 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
