Nottingham celebrates LGBT history month

untitledFebruary marks the annual celebration of LGBT History Month encouraging people to challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic behaviour.


Nottingham welcomes the homosexual community with a vast range of gay bars and clubs, as well as offering the annual Nottinghamshire Pride Festival. With a vast mixture of students from various backgrounds, it makes it homosexuality part of the city’s culture.

The University of Nottingham is hosting a number of events to celebrate LGBT History Month. The organisation Out in Education was formed by students at the University.

It aims to introduce LGBT sexual education to schools via workshops. Lucy Wake, a co-ordinator of the group, explains her line of work.
