Nottinghamshire libraries are planning ahead in anticipation of National Libraries Day in early February.
The events to mark the day kick off on Monday (2 February) and run until Saturday (7 February). Events will be taking place in schools, colleges, universities, workplaces and public libraries across the county.
A number of libraries will be hosting Harry Potter nights, and library managers are ordering extra copies of the novels to meet the demand.
These nights will include quizzes, readings and a magical surprise for the under sevens. The libraries hosting these are in Worksop, Bingham, Eastwood, West Bridgford, Kimberley, Retford, Stapleford, and Newark.
Around three million adults’ books and one million children’s books per year are loaned from the County Council’s libraries but it’s expected there’ll be an increase in these during National Libraries Week.
