The decision to build extra housing is part of a wider plan to add 1000 homes on the greenbelt site as the planning committee aims to build 7,250 new homes by 2028.

The plans were delayed after Gedling Borough Council held a vote to delay construction until a full report could be presented. Colin Powell one of the voters on the committee decided against the development going forward as he believed there should be a full report regarding a condition of footpath access and an amendment made by the Highways Authority.
