Nottingham in top ten for job growth

IMG_2940Nottingham comes in at number ten in the top ten cities in the UK for job growth, with a 7.7% increase over the last decade, according to Nottinghamshire County Council.

Statistics provided by the county council the number of people claiming job seekers’ allowance fell by 469 during December 2014, leaving the total of Nottingham jobless at 17,058.

Unemployment in Nottinghamshire is now  2.4% compared with 2% for the whole of the UK.

However, some businesses in Nottingham say they are not feeling the benefit. Nottingham theatre designer Kate Burnett says that she has not seen an increase in work.
