Men’s charity Muted in Nottingham reaches one year

1A male-orientated specialist help group in Nottingham, Muted, set up to aid those with depression, has reached its one year anniversary.

Muted was set up by Ian Hastings, a sufferer of depression himself. He explains why he decided to start the charity.

Since the charity began, 14 men who were initially in distress and experiencing suicidal thoughts have received support and advice and continue to improve and recover.

Over 230 requests for information regarding depression have been received and in some cases, continual support is provided.

The help starts with a phone call, and is continued over the phone, via e-mail or in person.
