The odds on who’s going to be elected in Nottinghamshire

david cameronThere are only 100 days to go until the General Election and the bookies are backing Labour candidates in the county’s marginal seats.

The two main parties, Conservative and Labour, are neck-and-neck overall in the UK. Labour is backed by 33% of the public and Conservatives are on about 32%.

In Nottinghamshire Labour’s Nick Palmer is 2/5 to beat Defence Minister and Tory MP Anna Soubry. Labour is also expected to win Sherwood. Their candidate, Leone Mathers, is 2/7 to win with sitting Conservative MP Mark Spencer 11/4 and UKIP on 16/1. Labour are expected to win all three Nottingham City seats

However, that doesn’t mean the winners are easy to predict as it is predicted 12% of voters did not support the Conservative/Labour/Lib Dem parties five years ago. There has also been a rise in support of UKIP and the SNP and, to a lesser extent, of the Greens.

Despite this David Cameron is confident that he’ll be keeping his job.
