Keep the memory alive. Newark’s National Holocaust Centre and Museum has launched a new project in order to specially mark the 75th anniversary of the Holocaust in 2020.
The proposed plan aims to include a digital project that will allow visitors to the centre to watch Holocaust survivors speak on film about their unique stories.
This year marks the 70th anniversary since the genocide in which approximately six million Jews were killed by the German Nazis.
On January 27 1945 soldiers of the Soviet First Ukraine fought their way through to the gates of Auschwitz, saving just under 6,000 prisoners.
The nationwide tribute will be held on Tuesday and is promoted by The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
