A soldier has challenged himself to cycle 1000 kilometres in just 24 hours, in an effort to raise money for the charity Blind War Veterans UK.
Steve Tonking, from Nottingham, has announced that he will undertake a 1000 kilometre cycle, within a 24 hour framework. The distance is the equivalent of cycling from Beeston, to John O’Groats in Scotland.
The 34 year old will be based at the entrance of Tesco in Beeston, on February 6, for an entire day of cycling. His Army colleagues will keep him company throughout the day by each riding for two hours alongside him.
