Former University of Nottingham student, Ruth Wilson, has walked away with a Golden Globe for Best Actress, for her performance in “The Affair”.
Ruth received the award on Sunday, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA, for her role in the murder mystery, “The Affair”.
Wilson was bought up in Surrey and graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2003. She is best known for her role in the 2006 adaptation of Jane Eyre. Other projects include the popular BBC1 crime series Luther and Disney’s “The Lone Ranger”, staring alongside Johnny Depp.
On accepting her award, Wilson thanked her supporters and her “glorious parents”. Other actresses up for the title of Best Actress were Clare Danes, Robin Wright, Viola Davies and Julianna Margulies.
