Nottingham Station Cycle hub given the go ahead

9283529-largeNottingham cyclists have given their approval for a revamp of the currently limited bike parking at Nottingham Train Station on Station Street.

An application made by cycle groups Pedals, Sustrans along with Citycard Cycles and Nottingham City Council claims “Nottingham railway station currently has poor facilities for cyclists and there are inadequate numbers of racks and no provision for changing”

However now that the revamp has been given the go ahead, East Midlands Trains aims to provide changing facilities, toilets and space for 200 bikes for busy commuters.

Commuters are also hoping for the development of a bike related shop as well, similar to a shop at the Sheffield train station that provides parts and services for cyclists in the city.
