The drink drive limit is now lower in Scotland than anywhere else in the UK. The amount you are legally allowed to have in your system has been almost halved.
Scotland has introduced a new law that cuts the legal drink drive limit by almost half. From midnight tonight anyone driving North of the boarder with more than 50mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood will be breaking the law.
The legal limit in England is 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. This means that the one drink you would normally be allowed will tip you over.
Scotland has introduced this law in the hope it will reduce the number of deaths caused by drink-driving.
