Winter is on its way and as the night gets darker cyclists are being urged to wear brighter clothes under a new initiative aimed at keeping them safe.
Cycling deaths hit a five-year high in 2012 as over 100 cyclists were killed in Britain.
Ucycle Nottingham is a Sustrans project which aims to increase levels of cycling amongst staff and students at universities and local colleges across the city.
Events are being held around Nottingham to highlight the importance of taking extra care during the winter months.
There will be demonstrations showing people how to set up their bikes for winter cycling, basic maintenance, cycling hints as well as providing information about appropriate clothing and giving free giveaways.
Guided bike rides will also be held for people of all abilities, and free bike hire will also be available.
