Frighteningly fun things to do in Notts this Halloween

autumn-19440_1280Halloween, All Hallow’s Eve, All Saint’s Eve, whatever you choose to call it, the spooky holiday is back and Nottingham is the place to be (scared) this year.

When it comes to ghosts, monsters and horror, the city of Nottingham seems to have Halloween 2014 covered, offering up some of the most spine-tingling activities for everyone to enjoy this year.

Freaky Fortnight

The Halloween Freaky Fortnight at the Galleries of Justice Museum will be sure to spook your socks off. Running until November 2, the infamous museum in the Lace Market will have a live Scare Show every half an hour. With actors providing eerie walkthroughs of the museum and telling gory tales, visitors can a look at the prison cells, caves and dungeons underneath the building whilst experiencing the sights and smells of fictional town Narrow Marsh.

Tours and shows will run between 12 and 4pm and tickets cost £3 per person or £10 for a family ticket for four. Due to popularity the museum is recommending you book to ensure your place! For more information call 0115 9520555.

Halloween Skating Party

Wanting to take a different, more slippery twist on Halloween this year? The National Ice Centre in Bolero Square, Lace Market, is hosting a spooky skating session on Friday. Creepy fancy dress is encouraged and skaters will be treated to a selection of thriller songs.

The skating session will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and normal prices will apply. Get your skates on for a truly chilling evening!

No Ordinary Ghost Walk

Nottingham ‘ghost’ Ezekial Bone is to lead the way on a Ghost Walk this Halloween for some great family fun to remember the grisly side of old Nottingham town. Those above the age of 10 are invited to join the walk and listen to Mr Bone share tales of  horrible history and true stories of murders, hangings and grave-robbing.

Joining in with the haunted fun will cost £7  with tours running at 7.00pm and 9.00pm, starting off from Cross Keys and lasting for 90 minutes each.
