Nottingham has faced travel disruption and severe weather conditions when winds of up to 50mph from Hurricane Gonzalo hit the city today.
The hurricane which battered islands in the West Indies and tore through Bermuda on Friday hit Nottingham today.
Downpours, damage to trees and heavy winds are amongst the disruption caused by the hurricane.
The MET Office issued a yellow weather warning early this morning.
Heavy rain and 110mph winds caused damage to buildings and powers lines in the West Indies and Bermuda and also caused flooding.
Elsewhere in the UK a woman has been killed after a tree hit her opposite Hyde Park Barracks in London.
Travel disruption has also continued throughout the day across the country with over 100 flights out of Heathrow being cancelled because of the weather.
