Should computer gaming help teaching in Nottinghamshire schools?

Games-ControllerIan Livingstone, the man behind Nottinghamshire’s biggest gaming outlet, has revealed plans to open a school that would adopt a games-based learning curriculum.

The Games Workshop co-founder has applied to launch a free school that would use games to teach rather than other traditional methods.

The school could open as early as 2016 so we asked four Nottinghamshire residents what they thought of the proposal.

AGAINST

“I think it should be kept separate for their spare time.”

“It isn’t a very academic subject.”

FOR

“The principles and dangers should be taught in school.”

“It will appeal to young boys and girls in secondary school.”
