Car Tax Disc To Be Axed Tomorrow

IMG_0748[1]The  tax disc to show motorists have paid vehicle excise duty will no longer be needed from tomorrow as the information will now be recorded electronically.

The new system will allow people to pay the charge by a monthly direct debit replacing the current system of 6 or 12 monthly instalments.

The discs were introduced in 1921 as part of the Roads Act in 1920.

The Treasury said the change showed that the government were moving “into the modern age”.
