Nottingham landlady prevents wedding day disaster, as she offers free use of her pub for a wedding party, after the closure of Lace Market Hotel.
Big-hearted pub Landlady, Beccy Webster has come to the rescue after Nottinghamshire couple faced a wedding cancelation following the sudden closure of city centre hotel. Desperate couple, Charlotte Banks and Mark Shutt put out a desperate plea for help when their after-party reception venue had to be cancelled following the crash of the Lace Market hotel.
The iconic Georgian town house on High Pavement has played host to a range of guests including Gary Barlow from Take That.
The bride-to-be then sent replacement venues into a Twitter frenzy as they compete to offer services for their big day.
Beccy Webster, landlady at The Elwes Arms in Carlton, was the first to suggest Charlotte using their function room free of charge.
A full wedding package at the pub including DJ, food and decorations would usually estimate at £1000 for the evening.
She said: “It’s not very usual that we have the room free, but we have this weekend.”
“If it can be put to use in a good way then we might as well.”
He tweets: “Sorry but we have no hotels in Nottingham.”
Bride and groom are still awaiting confirmation ahead of the upcoming bank holiday.
