Magpies hope to keep flying high in League One

SMITHR010501Notts County football club is hoping to secure its status as a League One football team, when they face Oldham at the weekend.

A recent run of good results at home,  has given the Magpies hope of obtaining safety and steering clear  of  relegation. This comes after consecutive poor form for Notts County and an increase in goals at home has not translated to the away matches.

The mood at the club is positive and many people  behind the scenes are playing a vital role in enabling  the Magpies to fly once again. The Magpies have a devoted following with attendance being strong giving the team a much needed boost of confidence as the end of the season draws near.  ‘The Bench’ campaign a new initiative this season to make fans feel more like part of the club is organising a special finale – after the last game of the season against Oldham Athletic on Saturday 3rd May 2014. ‘That Was The Season That Was’ on Sunday 4th May will either be a celebration or a commiseration after a season of two halves. Notts County have decided to forego the traditional award ceremony and invite the fans to the club on Sunday for a relaxed afternoon of review, celebration and looking to the coming season. There will be opportunity to meet Shaun Derry, Greg Abbott and the players but it will mainly be an opportunity for them to thank the fans for their support.

Manager Shaun Derry hopes to bring stability to the club, the recent upturn in form has given fans and players of the club optimism for the next season.

There will be many players who will be out of contract in the summer. As well as having a clear out it is vital we bring in players at the club to mix experience with youth.
