St Anns Allotments Snap Up Rankin

St.Anns AllotmentsWorld famous photographer, Rankin, will put St Anns Allotments in the picture after they won a national competition for him to photograph them.

The Victorian allotments, which are the biggest and oldest in Europe, won a national competition to have Rankin take portraits of volunteers as part of the nationwide “Museums at Night” exhibition.

More than 60,000 people took part in the Connect10 competition with the historic allotments being shortlisted alongside the Royal Crescent in Bath and the Phoenix Gallery in Brighton.

Allotment holder, Beverley Makin is excited to have the photographer on the grounds to capture its colorful plants and characters.

Rankin, best known for his portrait photos of HM Queen Elizabeth II, will showcase an exhibition of his work at the Victorian Heritage Centre in May.
