Marathon a week for Arnold mum

THUMB-FOR-WEBA mum from Arnold is putting her best foot forward to raise money for a children’s epilepsy charity, which has supported her daughter for three years.

Karen Ridley, 42, has set herself the challenge to run 26 miles a week for 26 weeks to raise funds for the Daisy Garland Charity, which has helped five year old poppy who has epilepsy. Karen knows how difficult it will be but is up for the challenge.

Poppy was diagnosed when she was 18 months old and can have up to eighteen fits a day.

“I think of a seizure like a marathon for Poppy, so for me to run once a week is nothing compared to what she goes through everyday”- Karen Ridley

The mum of three is hoping to raise £1,000 for the children’s charity that was founded by fellow mum, Sara Garland in memory of her daughter.

The money raised will help support other families with epileptic children.
